Getting started
Do I need a technical brief?
No. A description of your business, the problem you want to solve and the outcome you want is enough to start a conversation.
Can you help me decide what to build first?
Yes. We can discuss the essential requirements and identify a focused starting point. Additional features can be considered separately rather than added without a clear purpose.
Can I send examples of websites or applications I like?
Yes. Examples help communicate what you have in mind. It is especially useful to explain what you like about them, such as the content, functionality or overall experience.
Do you work with small businesses?
Yes. You can contact SpanGuild about a focused business website, an internal tool or another clearly defined development project.
Pricing and timelines
How much does a website or application cost?
The cost depends on the agreed deliverables, functionality, integrations and content requirements. We discuss those details before proposing a price.
Can you work within a set budget?
Share your budget during the initial discussion. We can consider whether a suitable scope is possible within it, without assuming every requested feature can be included.
How long does development take?
The schedule depends on the project and the availability of content, access and feedback. A proposed timeline is discussed once the requirements are understood.
What happens if I need additional features?
We discuss how the change affects the scope, cost and timeline before adding it to the agreed work.
Websites and hosting
Can you build a website if I do not have one?
Yes. We can discuss the pages, content and functionality needed for your first business website.
Can you rebuild my current website?
We can review it and discuss whether a rebuild or a smaller set of improvements would be appropriate.
Can I use my own domain and hosting?
Yes, provided the hosting environment supports the agreed implementation. Technical requirements and deployment responsibilities are discussed before development.
Will I be able to update the content?
If content editing is required, we can include a suitable content management approach in the scope.
Will my website include SEO?
The proposal can include foundational on-page and technical SEO work, such as page titles, descriptions, heading structure and agreed indexing setup. Ongoing SEO, content campaigns and ranking outcomes are separate from the website build.
Software and AI
Can you connect to software we already use?
We can assess the available integration options. Feasibility depends on the tools, APIs, permissions and subscription access involved.
Can you build an AI chatbot using our information?
We can discuss an assistant that uses an agreed information source. Data access, limitations, testing and review requirements need to be defined as part of the project.
Will an AI assistant always give the right answer?
No. AI-generated responses can be inaccurate, so the intended use, evaluation and level of human oversight need to be considered before deployment.
Can you improve an application another developer built?
Possibly. We would need to review the application, available code and relevant documentation before confirming what work can be undertaken.
